About C.A.P.E. : Capitol Area Peace Enforcement
Captial Area Peace Enforcement (C.A.P.E.) is an organization serving youth through education, gun violence and substance use prevention, mentorship, and life skills development.
Mission Statement & Approach
C.A.P.E.'s mission is to strengthen the protective factors of Greater Lansing Area youth and prevent youth violence through evidence-based practices, education, and life-skills training.
C.A.P.E. utilizes an approach to recruit and strategize working with youth in the Greater Lansing Area that responds to adolescents’ needs and goals for the future. This method is called STRONG - Scout, Teach, Respond, Orchestrate, Nurture, Graduate.
Youth are scouted based on the need to implement the protective factors CAPE outlines, as well as CAPE’s qualifying factors for service inclusion.
